New Delhi: Indian wicketkeeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha has announced that he is going to retire after the ongoing Ranji Trophy season. Saha, who plays for Bengal, has said that he will retire after representing his state team. 40 year old Saha made his debut for India in 2010. He is out of Team India since 2021. Wriddhiman Saha will not participate in IPL 2025 itself. If reports are to be believed, he has not given his name for the mega auction.

Wriddhiman Saha, who plays domestic cricket for Bengal, announced his retirement on social media. He wrote, 'After a lovely journey in cricket, this season will be my last. I have the honor of representing Bengal, I will only play in Ranji Trophy before I retire. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey. Let's make this season memorable.

Wriddhiman Saha has been playing for Bengal since 2007. He moved to Tripura in 2022. After representing Tripura for two years, he returned to play for Bengal for one last time in 2024. He has played two out of three rounds of the ongoing Ranji Trophy season. Saha was out for a duck in the match against UP in the first round and did not get a chance to bat in the team's only innings against Kerala in the third round.

Wriddhiman Saha's career

Wriddhiman Saha has played 40 test matches for India. He scored 1353 runs in his career. This also includes three centuries. Apart from this, 41 runs came from his bat in 9 ODI matches. Talking about first class cricket, he scored 7013 runs in 138 matches and 3072 runs in 116 matches in List A. He has also won IPL in 2011 and 2022. Saha is the first batsman to score a century in the IPL final. He has scored 2934 runs in 170 IPL matches.
