Talking about Test cricket, the maximum number of centuries is recorded in the name of master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who has 51 centuries to his name. Jacques Kallis of South Africa is second in this list, who has scored 45 centuries. After this comes the name of Ricky Ponting, who has 41 centuries to his name.
Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara is at fourth place, having scored 38 centuries, while Rahul Dravid is at fifth place with 36 centuries.

Now one name has been added to this list, that of Joe Root, who now has 35 Test centuries to his name. Joe Root has left behind cricket legends like Sunil Gavaskar, Brian Lara, Mahela Jayawardene and Younis Khan, who have scored a total of 34 Test centuries. With this, Root has also become the batsman who has scored the most Test runs for England.
