West Indies Cricket released the list of central contracts, many big players were cut.

St. John's (Antigua). Cricket West Indies (CWI) for the first time awarded multi-year contracts to nine West Indies men and women cricketers for the next two years. These nine cricketers include ODI vice-captain Alzarri Joseph, fast bowler Shamar Joseph, Women's T20 International captain Hayley Mathews and vice-captain Shamaine Campbell.

CWI offered contracts to 15 male cricketers and six of them were given multi-year contracts based on their performances during the 2023–2024 assessment period. Three out of 15 players in the senior women's team got multi-year contracts. The announcement comes amid increasing participation of West Indies players in lucrative franchise-based leagues around the world in order to keep the players connected with the national team by providing financial security. Among the men's players, Shai Hope, Brandon King, Gudakesh Moti and Jaden Seals, while in the women's category, Stafanie Taylor also got multi-year contracts.

The list of contracted players is as follows:
Multi-Year Contract, Men: Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Gudakesh Moti and Jaden Seals.
Multi-Year Contract, Female: Shamaine Campbell, Haley Matthews and Stephanie Taylor.

One Year Contract, Male: Alek Athanazye, Kraigg Brathwaite, Casey Carty, Roston Chase, Joshua Da Silva, Kavem Hodge, Akeal Hussain, Romario Shepherd, Rovman Powell.

One Year Contract, Female: Aaliyah Allen, Shamilia Connell, Deandra Dottin, Effie Fletcher, Cherie Ann Fraser, Chinelle Henry, Jaida James, Kiana Joseph, Ashmini Muniser, Chadian Nation, Karishma Ramhark and Rashada Williams.

These big players did not get a place
Wicketkeeper batsman Nicholas Pooran, all-rounder Andre Russell and Jason Holder have not been included in the new central contract issued by the West Indies Cricket Board. Nicholas Pooran and Andre Russell had a very good performance in the Caribbean Premier League 2024.
