Sri Lanka National Cricket Team vs West Indies National Cricket Team 1st T20I Match Scorecard: The first match of the three-match T20 Series 2024 between Sri Lanka national cricket team and West Indies national cricket team was played today i.e. on 13 October. This match between the two teams was played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla. In this match, West Indies has defeated Sri Lanka by five wickets. With this, the West Indies team has taken a 1-0 lead in the series. Charith Asalanka is leading Sri Lanka in this series. Whereas, the command of West Indies is on the shoulders of Rovman Powell. In the first T20 match, West Indies captain Rovman Powell won the toss and decided to bowl first. After losing the toss, the Sri Lankan team, who came to bat first, had a disappointing start and two batsmen returned to the pavilion with a score of just 27 runs. After this, Kusal Mendis and Kamindu Mendis together handled the innings.

Sri Lankan team scored 179 runs after losing seven wickets in 20 overs. For Sri Lanka, Charith Asalanka played the best inning of 59 runs. During this brilliant innings, Charith Asalanka hit nine fours in 35 balls. Apart from this, Kamindu Mendis scored 51 runs.

Romario Shepherd gave the first success to the West Indies team. Romario Shepherd took the maximum two wickets for West Indies. Apart from Romario Shepherd, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Gudakesh Moti and Shamar Springer took one wicket each. West Indies team had to score 180 runs in 20 overs to win this match.

The West Indies team, which came to chase the target, had a good start and for the first wicket, both the openers batted brilliantly and put 107 runs on the board. West Indies team achieved the target by losing five wickets in just 19.1 overs. For West Indies, Brandon King played the highest innings of 63 runs. During this explosive innings, Brandon King hit 11 fours and one six in 33 balls. Apart from Brandon King, Evin Lewis scored 51 runs.

Mathisha Pathirana gave the first success to the Sri Lankan team. For Sri Lanka, Wanindu Hasaranga and Mathisha Pathirana took maximum two wickets each. The second match of the series will be played on Tuesday i.e. 15th October at 7 pm at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla.
