Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant named in Delhi's probable squad for Ranji Trophy: Delhi has released the list of its probable players for the upcoming season of Ranji Trophy. The list of players released by Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) also includes the names of veteran batsman Virat Kohli and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. Both these players are busy playing the Test series against Bangladesh. Kohli was earlier included in Delhi's list in the year 2019 as well but then his name was not in the final squad.

Will Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant play Ranji Trophy?

After becoming a regular member of the Indian team, Virat Kohli has not played Ranji Trophy. He last participated in this tournament for Delhi in the 2012/13 season. At the same time, his chances of playing in the upcoming season are very low, as the Ranji Trophy is starting from October 11 and during this tournament India has to play a total of 8 Tests against New Zealand and Australia. In such a situation, the chances of Kohli being seen in domestic cricket are negligible. On the other hand, Rishabh Pant has also been playing cricket continuously since getting fit and he is also a regular part of the Test team. Pant has participated in IPL, T20 World Cup 2024, Sri Lanka tour, Duleep Trophy and Bangladesh series since his return. He is also expected to be seen in the T20 series. For this reason, Pant may also not be selected in Delhi's final squad for Ranji Trophy.
