Two exciting matches in Nalanda District Senior Cricket League
Two exciting matches were played in the Nalanda District Senior Cricket League (Session 2024-25) on Tuesday, in which Star Cricket Club and Nalanda Cricket Academy (NCA) registered resounding victories in their respective matches.
Star Club's one-sided victory
In the first match played at NCA Ground, Alinagar, Star Cricket Club defeated NIOCE Cricket Club by a huge margin of 156 runs. After winning the toss and batting first, Star Club scored 195 runs in 33.5 overs. For the team, Shubham played the highest innings of 51 runs, while Ram Vardhan contributed 42 runs and Yu Kumar contributed 24 runs.
In reply, the NIOCE Cricket Club team faltered badly and collapsed for 39 runs in just 16 overs. No batsman of the team could touch double figures. Sunny's 9 runs were the highest. Star Club bowler Bengali Kumar bowled brilliantly and took 5 wickets for 10 runs, while Ram Vardhan took 2 wickets for 12 runs.

NCA's thrilling victory
In the second match played at Ekangarsarai, Nalanda Cricket Academy (NCA) defeated Cricket Academy of Nalanda (CAN) by 12 runs. Batting first, NCA scored 229 runs in 34.5 overs. On behalf of the team, Raj Shekhar played a brilliant inning of 72 runs and Ranveer played an inning of 66 runs. Ravi also made an important contribution of 33 runs.
While chasing the target, CAN team gave a tough fight. Rishu played a brilliant inning of 91 runs, which was supported by Ashu (41) and Ajit (25). However, the team was out after scoring 217 runs in 34.4 overs. For NCA, Deepak took 3 wickets for 40 runs, Raj Shekhar took 3 wickets for 28 runs, and Ranveer took 2 wickets for 38 runs.
The team of experienced umpires officiated successfully in both the matches. Haider Ali and Rahul Kumar served as umpires in the first match, while Manish Raj and Kshitij Priyadarshi served as umpires in the second match.
