England Banned Its Players To Participate In PSL : Pakistan is currently facing setbacks in world cricket. They have had to face defeat from India regarding the Champions Trophy and if they do not accept the hybrid model then the hosting can be snatched away from them. Now their T20 tournament Pakistan Super League has also suffered a big blow. According to reports, the England Cricket Board has banned its players from participating in the PSL during the domestic season.
ECB stops players from playing in foreign leagues during domestic tournaments
The England Board has taken this decision because of its domestic T20 tournament. The ECB wants its players to be fully available for the Vitality Blast and The Hundred tournaments. For this reason, when this tournament is going on, English players will not be able to play in PSL. Now according to the new guidelines, players who have a contract with the ECB will not be able to play in any overseas league during the domestic white ball tournament of England. This also includes PSL. Apart from this, a player cannot do that if his team is out of the tournament then he goes to another country and starts playing in some other league at the same time.
According to the report of The Telegraph, the English Board believes that this policy will increase the quality of England's domestic tournament. All their main players will be available during the tournament and this will lead to some great matches.
This decision of ECB will not affect IPL
This decision of the England Cricket Board may affect many T20 leagues around the world, including the Pakistan Super League. However, it will not have any impact on IPL because no matches are taking place anywhere during IPL. Even international matches almost stop during IPL. For this reason, this decision of ECB will not have any impact on IPL. Many great players of England play in IPL and many are also big match winners for their respective teams.
