City Reporter|Motihari State level school chess competition will be held in Kishanganj from 15-17 October under the joint aegis of Bihar Government and Bihar State Sports Authority, Patna. Whereas the state level school cricket competition will be held in Gaya from 15-29 October. The team of East Champaran will participate in both the competitions. Under-14 and Under-17 boys team of East Champaran will participate in chess. The East Champaran team left for Kishanganj on Monday to participate in the competition. Players selected from different blocks are representing the district. The chess team was sent to Kishanganj under the supervision of team coach and team manager Hiralal Prasad and Kiran Kumari. District Sports Officer Amresh Kumar congratulated the players for victory. Physical education teachers Shailendra Kumar Mishra, Sunil Kumar, Bhanu Prakash, Arun Kumar, Rashmi Kumari and office workers Mohammad Mobashir and Ramesh Kumar etc. were present on the occasion. Whereas the team of East Champaran has gone to participate in the state level school cricket under-19 boys competition. The players were selected during the district level sports competition held in the district yesterday. District Sports Officer said that good players have been included in the team. East Champaran's performance has been better in all competitions. The players here will also bring glory to the district by performing well in chess and cricket. He said that competitions are being organized at many levels for the development of sports. Sports are being promoted at the school level to bring out talents. Coming out from there, the players are today bringing glory to the district at the national level. All types of sports are being organized here.
