The cricket ground is in bad condition. The grounds which looked beautiful till a few years ago are now covered with weeds, bushes and dirt.
The cricket ground built with lakhs of rupees in the sports complex complex located at Karauli district headquarters is in a dilapidated condition these days. The responsible officials have turned their backs on the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds. The result of which is that the cricket ground is in a bad condition. till a few years ago
The grand KPL (Karauli Premier League) has been organized twice on the cricket ground. In which passion for cricket was shown. Many teams participated and players showcased their cricketing talent. While the ground was near DCA, cricket players used to come here for regular practice and camps were also organised. Players from Hindaun, Gangapur City, Sawai Madhopur have been coming here to play friendly matches and exhibition matches. On behalf of the District Cricket Association, this playground was improved by signing an MOU with the Sports Council for about five years. The association beautified the playing field and a good cricket ground became available for the players. From 2016 to 2020, the ground remained with DCA, but after that the MOU was completed.
Till a few years ago the grounds looked beautiful. Stone benches were also installed at various places in the grounds with public cooperation. A stone hut was also constructed, but at present the planks of many benches are broken. The entry door to the grounds is broken. There is dirt lying here and there in the field. Apart from this, during the KPL event, fencing was also done around the ground, but it has also broken at many places, but the ground is not being maintained.
Acting District Sports Officer Ramesh Gupta said that there was an MOU for the cricket ground located at the Sports Complex with the District Cricket Association for five years, which has been completed. Guards have been appointed to supervise the sports complex.
District Cricket Association Treasurer Rajesh Saraswat said that DCA had signed a five-year MoU for the cricket ground. The cricket ground was well maintained. Other works including repairs were also done. During the KPL event, Rs 1.5 lakh was spent with public support in fencing the ground, but now sports activities on the cricket ground have come to a standstill. Children are facing great inconvenience. They have to go to an academy elsewhere to practice. Due to which we are suffering financial loss.
Vice President of District Cricket Association, Anil Sharma said that DCA had a five-year MoU on the cricket ground of the sports complex, which has been completed. DCA had maintained the playground well. At present, selection trials and competitions of cricket players are conducted in the grounds of a campus in Kheda village.
