Due to rain, the overs were cut and 37-37 overs were decided. West Indies team scored 185 runs after losing four wickets in 37 overs. For West Indies, Sherfane Rutherford played a brilliant inning of 74 unbeaten runs. During this innings, Sherfane Rutherford hit five fours and three sixes in 82 balls. Apart from Sherfane Rutherford, Casey Carty scored 37 runs.
Wanindu Hasaranga gave the first major success to the Sri Lankan team. For Sri Lanka, Wanindu Hasaranga took the maximum of two wickets. Apart from Wanindu Hasaranga, Jeffrey Wandersay and Charith Asalanka took one wicket each. According to DLS rules, Sri Lankan team has to score 232 runs in 37 overs to win this match. The Sri Lankan team would like to win this match and take a 1-0 lead in the series.
