Sri Lanka Cricket Appoint New Head Coach: Former captain Sanath Jayasuriya has been appointed as the head coach of the Sri Lanka men's cricket team. Under the guidance of Jayasuriya, who was a former Sri Lankan opener, the team had performed brilliantly especially against India, England and New Zealand. Jayasuriya's appointment has started from October 1, 2024 and he will hold the post till March 31, 2026. Jayasuriya's first responsibility as head coach will be the limited overs matches against West Indies, which will be played in Dambulla and Pallekele. Jayasuriya has previously been an advisor to Sri Lankan cricket. He was first appointed interim head coach in July.
