While inaugurating the Bhagat Singh Cricket Tournament on Sunday at Kasturba Gandhi Ground in Chakhamid, Bakhri, State Sports Minister Surendra Mehta said that organizing such a tournament at the rural level is commendable. He said that the government is committed to promoting sports. In this light, playgrounds are being constructed by the government in all the blocks and panchayats of the state. In response to the demand for a stadium by local speakers, the Sports Minister said that it can be done if the villagers and public representatives write in writing. Before this, the first match of the tournament to be held between the teams of Bakhri and Navkothi was jointly inaugurated by the Sports Minister, Bakhri Municipal Council Chairperson Geeta Kushwaha, BJP District President Rajeev Verma, ZIP members Ghanshyam Rai, Amit Kumar Dev, Deputy Chief Representative Balram Singh Kushwaha. The inauguration was done by cutting the ribbon. But due to delay the match was drawn. The program was conducted by teacher Vidyanand Thakur and teacher Ziaullah Rahmani. While the commentary of the match was done by Kanhaiya Kumar, former chief Tufail Khan, Gautam Singh Rathore. On the occasion, former Panchayat head Abdul Haleem welcomed the minister and the visiting guests. A large number of villagers and spectators including former Deputy Chief Amarjeet Kumar, Pappu Khalifa were present on the occasion.
