Jodhpur: Southern Superstars defeated Gujarat Greats by 8 wickets on Thursday in the Legends Cricket League tournament being held at Barkatullah Khan Stadium. Southern Superstars crossed the target of 124 runs set by Gujarat Greats in the 15th over itself. Now the further matches of this league will be held in Surat.
Captain Shreevats Goswami and Hamilton played a big role in the second wicket partnership in the victory of Southern Superstars. Goswami remained unbeaten on 48 runs, while Hamilton was dismissed after scoring 41 runs. Pawan Negi, who came in his place, scored 19 runs. Martin Guptill scored 17 runs. Earlier, after winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Morne van Wyk and captain Shikhar Dhawan started the innings for Gujarat Greats. But the score reached 29/2 in just 4.4 overs when the wickets of Morne van Wyk (9) and Lendl Simmons (8) fell. Shikhar Dhawan was the top scorer of the match. He scored 38 runs in 43 balls. Mohammad Kaif added 10 runs in 15 balls. Asghar Afghan played an important innings in the end. He scored 18 runs in 17 balls and took his team to a score of 123/7 in 20 overs.

Spectators thronged the final match, now matches will be held in Surat: A total of 6 matches of the league were held at Jodhpur's Barkatullah Khan Stadium. The stadium was completely packed in the final match played here on Thursday. Long queues were also seen outside. Due to this, many people had to face problems for entry and exit. The next 6 matches of the Legend League will now be held in Surat. The first match will be played on Friday between Konark Surya Odisha and Manipal Tigers.
