South African cricket team got a big blow, star bowler withdrew from the central contract.

South African spin bowler Tabrez Shamsi has withdrawn his name from the central contract. The information about this decision has been shared by the South Africa Board.

South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi has decided to opt out of his central contract. Since his international debut for South Africa in 2016, he has taken a total of 167 wickets across all formats.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) said in a joint statement that the move will give 34-year-old Shamsi the freedom to participate in different leagues around the world. While he will be available to represent South Africa in both formats of the white ball.

Shamsi said in the statement that I have decided to withdraw from my central contract. So that I can be free during the home session. So that I can take advantage of all the available opportunities and also get time for my family.

This will in no way affect my ability or motivation to play for the Proteas and I will always be available to play for my country whenever I am needed. It has always been my dream to win the World Cup for the team and no franchise league will be more important than playing for my country.

Before Shamsi, players from other countries like former New Zealand Kane Williamson, Devon Conway and Finn Allen have also decided to opt out of the central contract.

CSA said that we respect Shamsi's decision and have full confidence in his continued dedication to South African cricket through international performances and his domestic team Titans.

South Africa team is currently playing a three-match ODI series against Ireland. The team in which Tabrez Shamsi has not been given a place.
