Second C.D. Batra Memorial Cricket Tournament begins

The 2nd C.D. Batra Memorial Inter School Cricket Tournament-2024 was inaugurated with great enthusiasm in the cricket ground of Holy Child School in collaboration with Tenvik Sports run by Anil Kumble. This tournament was inaugurated by the Vice Chairman of the school, Mr. Vikas Batra. On this occasion, the Principal of the school, Vice-Principal (Admin) and Vice-Principal (Academic), HOD-Physical Education, Regional Officer of Tenvik Sports were present. This competition will run from 20 November 2024 to 23 November 2024. Schools from Bilaspur (Uttar Pradesh) and Rudrapur (Uttarakhand) are participating in this tournament.

Today's inaugural match was played between Wisdom Public School, Rudrapur and Holy Child School, Bilaspur. Wisdom Public School won the toss and decided to field first. Holy Child School team, batting first, scored 151 runs losing 6 wickets in 15 overs in which captain Amardeep Singh contributed the maximum of 47 runs. Thereafter, while chasing 151 runs, Wisdom Public School team could score only 110 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 15 overs. Due to which Holy Child won by 41 runs. Holy Child's bowler Shorya Singh performed well and took 3 important wickets by giving 2 runs in two overs. Holy Child's cricket team performed brilliantly under the leadership of coach Mr. Viresh Sharma.

Patron of the institution Mr. Yograj Batra, Chairman Mr. Rohitash Batra, Vice Chairman Mr. Vikas Batra, MD Mrs. Pooja Batra, Mr. Vinay Batra, Principal of the school Mr. Mintu Dubey, Vice-Principal (Admin) Mr. Pradeep Kumar Joshi and Deputy- Principal (Academic) Mrs. Manju Adhikari, Tournament Administrator Mr. Sudhakar Singh (HOD-Physical Education), Tenvic Regional Sports Officer Mr. Kapil Kumar and the entire teaching staff congratulated the cricket team on this achievement and wished for a bright future.
