Banswara | In the 68th district level sports competition, Saraswati School Udaji Ka Gada’s team (student category) defeated Mainapadar’s team by 75 runs in the under-19 cricket competition. While batting for Saraswati School, Ritam Kalaal scored 40 runs.
Bhaskar Correspondent | On behalf of Banswara District Legal Services Authority, the authority secretary Kaushal Singh inaugurated the district level sports competition on Tuesday in the Government Deaf and Dumb Higher Secondary School, Lodha. Participants showed enthusiasm in the sports competitions organized among specially abled children of the age group of 8 to 18 years (children above 18 years of age in case of mental retardation are also included) from all the special schools, government and non-government institutions. The authority secretary said that for the competition the special abilities were divided into four categories- physical disability, visual and auditory disability, intellectual disability and others, and group and individual competitions were organized.
In which many participants showed their zeal and enthusiasm by participating in more than one competition. A total of 50 specially abled boys and girls participated in competitions like long jump, shotput, badminton, carrom, chess, table tennis, painting etc. On the occasion of Legal Services Day 2024, these sports competitions have been organized in the sequence of Legal Awareness Campaign 2024 through sports and other activities in order to create legal awareness among specially abled children and towards them in the society so that the society can be inspired for positive thinking and positive initiatives towards children with special abilities. On this occasion, school principal Vinay Kumar Vyas, Yogesh Sharma from Samagra Shiksha, physical teacher Achal Malot and school staff were present. The event was conducted by Paresh Trivedi of the school.
Banswara: The chess and hockey tournament organized by GGTU was inaugurated at Leo College. Leo Institute Director Manish Trivedi said that inter-college hockey men’s category and chess men’s and women’s category tournaments were organized at the Leo Institute. The chief guest of the program was University Vice Chancellor Dr. Keshav Singh Thakur and it was presided over by University Sports Board Chairman Dr. Rakesh Damor. The guests were welcomed by Leo NCC cadets and the Leo band. The guests were welcomed by Dr. Darshna Trivedi and Manager Kamal Pandya. The welcome address was given by Principal Dr. Shilpa Trivedi.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Keshav Singh Thakur hoisted the flag and declared the event open. The players were administered the sports oath by the Chairman of the University Sports Board, Dr. Rakesh Damor. On this occasion, Chess and Hockey Tournament Observers Dr. Pramod Vaishnav, Dr. Rajesh Joshi, University Selectors Dr. Navlesh Sharma and Veer Nihal Singh were also present. The event was conducted by Lecturer Vineet Yagnik. In the matches played on the first day, Raj Nobel Dungarpur and Gurukul College Paldi were victorious in Hockey. In the men’s category of chess team events, Aravali College was the winner, Swami Vivekanand College Sagwara was the runner-up and in the women’s category, Gurukul College Dungarpur and Aravali College were runners-up. The individual chess competition and the semi-final and final matches of Hockey will be held on Wednesday.
