Ireland won the third and final ODI against South Africa by 69 runs. With this win, Ireland finished the series 2-1. Paul Stirling played an excellent innings for Ireland in the first innings, he scored 88 runs. Facing 92 balls, he hit 8 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from this, Harry Tector played an important inning of 60 runs, in which he faced 48 balls. Ireland captain Andrew Balbirnie also contributed 45 runs. Ireland had scored 284 runs losing 9 wickets in 50 overs. In this innings, Lizard Williams took 4 wickets for 56 runs in 10 overs for South Africa. Otneil Bartman and Andile Phehlukwayo also took 2 wickets each, but the consistency of the Irish batsmen did not prevent them from posting a competitive score.
The start of South Africa's innings to chase was also not good. Jason Smith tried to control the team by playing an inning of 91 runs, but despite his efforts the team had to face defeat. Smith hit 6 fours and 2 sixes in 93 balls. Apart from him, Kyle Verreyan scored 38 runs. Graham Hume and Craig Young performed brilliantly in Ireland's bowling.
