Rituraj Gaikwad has captained Team India in the Asian Games.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian A team for the Australia tour. Ishan Kishan, who is out of Team India, has also been included in the 15-member team.

Ruturaj Gaikwad has been given the captaincy of the team. A five-match Test series is to be played between the senior teams of India and Australia from November 22 and before that the A teams of both the teams will play two matches.

India A will play two first-class matches against Australia A in McCoy and Melbourne, then an intra-squad match against the senior India team in Perth. The first Test between the A teams of India and Australia will be played from October 31 to November 3, while the second Test will be played from November 7 to 10. After this, the intra squad match will be played in Perth from 15 to 17 November.

Ishaan was thrown out of the central contract in 2024 In February 2024, Ishaan was dropped from the BCCI central contract for not giving priority to domestic cricket. At that time, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had warned the cricketers not playing in Team India that the cricketers who are out of the team should participate in domestic cricket to make a place in the national team.
