New Delhi. Captain Rohit Sharma's form is on target after the embarrassing 0-3 defeat in the Test series against New Zealand. Along with this, questions are also being raised on the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, who won the toss in Bengaluru and chose to bat first on a swing friendly wicket, whereas in Mumbai, he was seen on the back foot after losing the toss on a rank turner pitch. For the first time in history, India has become the victim of a clean sweep in a Test series of three or more matches at home.

Apart from this, Rohit's form in red ball format is also under question. He has been able to score only 133 runs in the last 10 innings. His average during this period is 13.30. After this defeat, clouds of crisis are now looming over reaching the final of the upcoming ICC World Test Championship (ICC WTC Final), whereas before this series, Team India was looking at the forefront in securing a place in the final.

Now, if India wants to reach the final of the ICC World Test Championship, then it will have to beat the host Kangaroos by at least 4-0 in the 5-Test series in the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024-25) starting in Australia from November 22. . That means the Indian team will not want to tolerate even a single defeat in the series here.

Meanwhile, 1983 World Cup winning Indian team's star batsman Krishnamachari Srikkanth believes that signs of aging are now clearly visible in Rohit Sharma. If he does not appear in form in the series during the Australia tour, then there is no doubt that he will announce his retirement from Test cricket.

While talking on his YouTube channel, this former veteran batsman said, '(If India does not do better in Australia then) 100 percent you will have to think ahead. If Rohit Sharma does not do better in Australia then I think he will retire from Test cricket himself. He will play only ODI. He has already left T20 International cricket. We have to keep in mind that his age is increasing and he will no longer be young.

However, this former veteran also praised Rohit Sharma that after the series defeat against New Zealand, he also blamed his captaincy and batting form as the reason for the defeat. He clearly said that he will have to re-evaluate his batting and improve his defensive technique for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

He said, 'At least Rohit Sharma had that courage. Hats off to him for admitting that he played poorly in the entire series. This is a big thing. This is the first step for a player to get back into rhythm. It is very important to accept your mistakes. This is the greatest quality of a person. He has openly accepted this and it means that he is on the path of comeback. This is my opinion.
