Star Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw turned 25 on Saturday (November 9). Prithvi Shaw was sometimes compared with former Team India opener Virender Sehwag and 'God of Cricket' Sachin Tendulkar. The International Cricket Council (ICC) had even named Prithvi as the 'next Sachin Tendulkar' in a video. But now Prithvi Shaw's luck is not favoring him.

Now Prithvi Shaw is not getting a chance even in domestic cricket, leave alone Team India. Prithvi was dropped from the Mumbai team in the current season of Ranji Trophy. Prithvi definitely played the first two matches, but after that he was shown the door. In two Ranji matches this season, his scores were 7 and 12 (against Baroda), 1 and 39 not out (against Maharashtra).

Was Prithvi out due to excess weight?

The selectors and team management of Mumbai team believe that Prithvi Shaw is overweight. It has also been found that he does not take net practice sessions seriously and attends them irregularly. Prithvi has played five Tests, six ODIs and one T20 International for India so far. In 2018, he was adjudged 'Player of the Match' after scoring a century in his debut Test against West Indies in Rajkot.

Prithvi Shaw played his last international match on 25 July 2021. This was also his T20 International debut match. Prithvi could not even open his account in that debut T20 match played against Sri Lanka. He was out on the very first ball. That means Prithvi did not get a place in the Indian team after his T20I debut. Not only this, before the mega auction of IPL 2025, Prithvi has also been released by Delhi Capitals (DC).

It is not avoiding challenges, but the way to face them that makes a player great.
