Sports Desk, New Delhi. Sri Lankan left-arm spinner Praveen Jayawickrama has been banned from all forms of cricket for a year. ICC has found the accused violating the Anti Corruption Code (ACU). Jayawickrama has accepted the charges.
Jayawickrama last played for Sri Lanka in 2022. He has participated in 5 Test, 5 ODI and 5 T20 International matches for Sri Lanka and has a total of 32 international wickets to his name in those 15 matches. Praveen made his debut for Sri Lanka in 2021.

These ICC allegations relate to international cricket and the Lanka Premier League. The ICC has agreed with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to take action in accordance with Articles 1.7.4.1 and 1.8.1 of the Code.
The ICC considered it a crime under the Anti-Corruption Code and banned him. Praveen is accused of violating Article 2.4.7 of the Code.
Allegations of obstructing investigation and damaging documents
Under this section, obstruct or delay any investigation being conducted by the ACU, including concealing, tampering or destroying any document or other information. Praveen has been found guilty of this.
