Pakistan Cricket Board on Jason Gillespie Head Coach till PAK vs SA Test Series not Aqib Javed

Pakistan Cricket Board on Jason Gillespie: Everything is not going well in Pakistan cricket at the moment. Apart from the performance of the team, many types of news are also coming out regarding the head coach. Recently, Pakistan's red ball head coach Jason Gillespie was also appointed as the temporary white ball coach for the Australia tour. After which the news came that Gillespie would be removed from the post of head coach after the last T20 match against Australia. After which Aaqib Javed will replace Gillespie. But Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has tried to put an end to all the speculations by tweeting.

PCB's decision on Jason Gillespie
Pakistan Cricket Board has recently tried to put an end to the speculations about removing Jason Gillespie from the post of head coach of the Test team. PCB issued a statement on social media platform X and clarified that Gillespie will remain the coach of the team till the upcoming South Africa Test series. However, the board did not clarify whether Gillespie will complete his contract period till 2026 or not, due to which the market of discussions has become even more heated.

The PCB said in its statement, “Jason Gillespie will remain the coach of the team for the two red-ball matches against South Africa.” The test series will be played in January 2025.

Will Aaqib Javed become the next head coach?
Despite this statement of PCB, doubt remains on the future of Jason Gillespie. According to media reports, there is a strong discussion about appointing former Pakistani fast bowler Aaqib Javed as the coach of Pakistan team in all formats. It is believed that Javed can take command of the Test team after the South Africa tour. There is also a possibility of Javed being appointed coach of ODI and T20 formats.

Why did the issue of Gillespie's head coach arise?
Actually, PCB had offered Jason Gillespie to become the coach of the white ball team till Champions Trophy 2025. But Gillespie rejected this responsibility saying that there was no increase in his current salary. After this, news started coming that PCB contacted Aaqib Javed and now he can soon be seen in the role of head coach in all formats.
