Pakistan Cricket Board keeping an eye on unsold foreign players of IPL, what does PCB want to do?

PSL 2025

New Delhi: Pakistan Cricket Board PCB is upset due to not allowing English players to play PSL 2025 and withdrawing the names of many foreign cricketers from the league. Apart from this, there is also a possibility that next year the dates of PSL and IPL season may clash together, due to which the availability of players may create problems for the team franchise.

Player availability is the biggest problem for the team franchise.
To avoid this problem, the PSL franchise owners recently submitted the list of unsold foreign players in the IPL auction to the PCB to ensure that they are registered for the Pakistan Super League players draft.

PSL and IPL dates likely to collide
The dates of the upcoming seasons of PSL and IPL are likely to clash with each other. Because of which most of the players would prefer to play in the Indian league IPL instead of playing in PSL. Let us tell you that many high-profile foreign cricketers including David Warner, Kane Williamson, Adil Rashid, Alex Carey, Keshav Maharaj, Shai Hope, Daryl Mitchell, Jonny Bairstow, Aqeela Hussain were not sold in the IPL 2025 auction.

What do PSL team owners want?
According to the media report, “PSL team owners want the PCB to talk to the agents and board of these players and confirm their availability for PSL 2025.” If unsold players of IPL are available for PSL, then PSL franchises should show more interest in buying those players.

PSL franchises want to draft players in London or Dubai
Apart from this, PCB is also planning to organize the player draft for PSL in London or Dubai like India. Last month, the IPL mega auction was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. PSL franchises are in favor of getting the players drafted in London or Dubai as they feel it will improve the brand image of the league.
