A series of 7 ODI matches was being played between India and England in 2008. By winning the first 5 matches, Team India had won the series and was ready to wipe out England. However, after the 26/11 attacks, the England team returned and those two matches could not be played. Now a similar incident has happened in Pakistan also. It remains to be seen whether the England cricket team will continue playing in Pakistan or return back.
BLA took responsibility for the attack on social media
China appealed to Pakistan to thoroughly investigate this matter and give strict punishment to the criminals. Also, it demanded strict measures to be taken to protect Chinese citizens, institutions and projects in the country. Initial reports about the blast were contradictory, with some officials calling it an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) blast, while others said the blast occurred after a vehicle collided with an oil tanker. Footage from the scene showed several vehicles on fire and a bomb disposal squad was investigating the nature of the blast. The blast occurred near Jinnah International Airport in Karachi at around 11:00 pm local time when the convoy passed by. The banned group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack on social media, although Pakistani officials have not yet confirmed it.
