The board has announced a new selection committee for the Pakistan cricket team, in which a former umpire has also been included.

Resignations are continuing in Pakistan cricket after the defeat in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Mohammad Yousuf had recently resigned from the selection committee, after which PCB did not announce his replacement. Now after the defeat against England, the board has made many important changes in the selection committee. Aleem Dar, Aaqib Javed, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali and Hasan Cheema have been included in the new selection committee.

Asad Shafiq and Hasan Cheema were earlier also part of this selection committee, while Aleem Dar, Aaqib Javed and Azhar Ali have been included as new appointments. Aleem, who is a former ICC Elite Umpire, has officiated in international cricket for almost 19 years. He also recently retired from domestic cricket.

Who is Aleem Dar?

Aleem Dar has played the role of umpire in a total of 435 international matches and has also been the umpire in the finals of the 2007 and 2011 Cricket World Cup. In addition, Aleem has also played domestic cricket for Pakistan, where he played 17 first-class and 18 List A matches between 1986 and 1998. His umpiring career has earned him a respectable recognition.
