James Fuller and Dawid Malan performed brilliantly as Texas Gladiators defeated Los Angeles Waves by 4 wickets in the National Cricket League (NCL) on Sunday. Fuller scored 39 runs in 10 balls, while Malan scored 38 runs in 16 balls and led his team to victory. Chasing the target of 127 runs, Tymal Mills took three wickets, but Texas Gladiators won easily with the help of one four and five sky-high sixes from Fuller. The T10 format has given a new dimension to cricket as a game and NCL is taking it to a new level thanks to the global superstars playing in the tournament.
Batting first, Los Angeles Waves scored a total of 126 runs for the loss of three wickets, with Tim David being the top scorer for the team with 51 runs. Tim David played a brilliant innings. He scored 51 runs in just 20 balls with the help of one four and seven sixes. Shakib Al Hasan and George Munsey both played their roles by playing fast innings. Jason Behrendorff, Nisarg Patel and Ashmead Ned took one wicket each for Texas Gladiators.
In reply to the goal from Los Angeles Waves, Dawid Malan got the team off to a good start and his partnership with first Kennar Lewis and then Nick Kelly kept the Texas Gladiators in the race. However, there was a time in the match when Texas Gladiators had to struggle, but in the end the team was successful in registering victory. For Los Angeles Waves, Mills gave only 20 runs in 2 overs and took three important wickets. However, Ben Fuller proved to be a trouble-shooter for his team and scored 39 runs in just 10 balls. In the end, his team won the match with 7 balls remaining.
