Sports Desk: Former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has shared with everyone a funny incident with his wife Sakshi Singh on cricket knowledge during a program. It so happened that one day Dhoni and Sakshi were watching cricket together when a batsman got stumped on a wide ball. Sakshi confidently predicted that the umpire would overturn the decision, adding that no player could be stumped on a wide ball. Despite Dhoni trying to correct him, he rejected his explanation and said – You have no idea.
In an Instagram video, Dhoni says- So, we were watching a game at home. I think it was an ODI match. Sakshi was with me. Usually Sakshi and I don't talk about cricket. During this, the batsman got stumped on a wide ball.
Dhoni said- Infield umpire took review. My wife said he was not out. And by the time she was saying this, the batsman had started walking towards the pavilion.
He said he would call her back. You can never stump anyone on a wide ball. I corrected him that it can happen on wide balls but not on no balls. He said you don't know anything. Just wait and see him come back.
Dhoni further says- While we were discussing all this, the batsman had reached the boundary line. She (the witness) was still thinking that she would be called back. But finally when the next batsman came on the field he said that something was wrong.
A text runs throughout the video which reads – When you have the record for most stumpings in the world but your wife tells you 'You don't know anything'.
As soon as the said video came on social media, fans commented fiercely on it. A fan remembered the incident of Virat Kohli when while bowling, he got Kevin Pietersen stumped by Mahendra Singh Dhoni on a wide ball. In the said match, Virat was just going to bowl the first ball. His very first ball went wide outside the leg stump. Kevin Pietersen could not handle it and came out of the crease while trying to hit the shot. When the ball came into Dhoni's gloves, he immediately blew away the stumps. Along with this, a unique record of taking a wicket without throwing the ball was also registered in the name of Virat.
