In the first ODI match, Australia pushed Pakistan on the backfoot. During the game, Pakistan's score in the 34th over was 124/6. Among the top-order batsmen of the Pakistani team, only Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were seen struggling against the Australian bowling. Babar scored 37 runs while Rizwan played an important inning of 44 runs.

Starc has taken his number of wickets in home ODI matches to 101, making him fifth in the list of bowlers taking most wickets at home for Australia. With this, he has become the fastest bowler to achieve this feat. At the top of this list is Brett Lee, who has taken 169 wickets in 94 matches. In second place is Glenn McGrath, who took 160 wickets in 95 matches. Shane Warne is at third place with 134 wickets in 83 matches, while Craig McDermott is at fourth place with 125 wickets in 88 matches.

Starc took his 100 ODI wickets in Australia in just 54 innings, surpassing Lee's record of reaching the milestone in 55 innings. Another Australian legend Glenn McGrath is at third place in this list, who took his 100th ODI wicket in Australia in the 56th innings. Starc is the 30th player in any country to take 100 or more ODI wickets. South African legend Shaun Pollock has made this record by taking 197 wickets in South Africa.
