Mainpuri. Meerut Mandal captured the winner's cup of both the categories of the State Secondary Girls Cricket Competition being played in the city. In the Under-17 category, Meerut defeated Gorakhpur by 18 runs. In Under-19, Meerut girls performed better and defeated Aligarh Mandal by 51 runs.
On Monday morning, in the first shift, the final match of Under-17 category was played between Meerut and Gorakhpur on the ground of Shri Chitragupt Inter College. Meerut scored 91 runs while playing first. Gorakhpur team could score only 73 runs in the stipulated overs. Meerut won this match by 18 runs. Unnati Saini of Meerut was declared the player of the match of the final match. Unnati Saini was declared the player of the series along with being the best bowler in this group. Tulsi Gupta of Meerut was declared the best batsman in this group.
The final match of Under-19 category was played on the ground of Shri Chitragupta Inter College from 12 noon. In this, Meerut, playing first, performed brilliantly and scored a huge score of 132 runs. While chasing the target, Aligarh team could score only 81 runs.
