What is the news?

Bowlers play an important role in winning the test match.

Recently, the Indian cricket team had to face defeat in the Pune Test against the New Zealand cricket team. Kiwi bowlers had made the difference in that match.

Interestingly, so far in the history of Test cricket, there have been only 2 such matches in which the fast bowlers of one team did not bowl at all.

Bangladesh vs West Indies (2018)

In the year 2018, Bangladesh cricket team had decided to field with 5 spin bowlers in the test played against West Indies cricket team in Dhaka.

Bangladesh made a huge score of 508 runs in their first innings on a spin-friendly pitch at the Shere Bangla National Stadium.

In reply, the Caribbean team was bundled out for 111 and then 213 runs while playing fall on.

The host team won the match by an innings and 184 runs.

Mehdi Hasan Miraj took 5 wickets in both the innings

Off-spinner Mehdi Hasan Miraz took the maximum wickets in the match with 12 wickets (7/58 and 5/59). During the first innings he gave the best bowling performance of his Test career.

Captain Shakib Al Hasan had achieved a total of 4 successes.

Pakistan vs England (2024)

Pakistan cricket team has recently won the Rawalpindi test against England cricket team by 9 wickets.

In the match, the English team scored 267 runs in its first innings. In reply, the host team took the lead by scoring 344 runs thanks to Shaud Shakeel's century (134).

After this, the visiting team was reduced to just 112 in the third and second innings of the match.

In the end Pakistan achieved the small target.

English team stuck in the spin of Noman Ali and Sajid Khan

Left arm spinner Noman Ali took a total of 9 wickets (3/88 and 6/42) in the match.

Right-arm off-spinner Sajid Khan took a total of 10 wickets (6/128 and 4/69) in the match. He also scored an unbeaten 48 runs during Pakistan's first innings.

Leg break bowler Zahid Mahmood achieved 1 success.

Pakistan had included a fast bowler in the form of Aamer Jamal in their playing eleven, but did not bowl a single over to him.
