KL Rahul is not having a good time. Are continuously failing in international cricket. The performance of his team Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the last IPL season was also disappointing. Now one day is left in the IPL retention deadline and the chances of his retention seem very less. It is believed that KL Rahul may have to suffer the consequences of poor captaincy and not adjusting to T20 cricket.

Fast bowler Mayank Yadav, leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi and Ayush Badoni are most likely to be retained by LSG ahead of the upcoming IPL mega auction along with Nicholas Pooran. However, the chances of KL Rahul's name being approved are very less. A source keeping an eye on developments at LSG told PTI on Wednesday that LSG has only looked at the performance of the last three years and specifically kept in mind Rahul's own batting style and strike rate which will factor into any decision. are important factors to arrive at.

KL's strike rate under question

He said that during three years with LSG, Rahul's strike rates have been 136.13 (616 runs), 113.23 (274) and 135.38 (520). In today's T20 era, when the Indian team also had to change its strategy, these figures were not acceptable. In comparison, Pooran, who usually bats the last 10 overs, had a strike rate of 144.34 in 2022 and was very impressive with 172.95 and 178.21 in the next two seasons.

The source said that if you look at 2024, Rahul's 520 runs will not help the team qualify. Most of the matches were won and lost because of our powerplay batting. Pooran, on the other hand, is a popular member of the team and one of the leaders in the team who has also captained the West Indies. As far as Mayank Yadav is concerned, he is the only bowler in the country to bowl at a speed of more than 150 kmph and LSG had invested in him at a time when he was not a special player.
