Most 50+ scores in Tests: England's legendary batsman Joe Root has achieved a big achievement in Test cricket on Saturday (7 December). Root, who scored runs continuously, achieved this feat during the second Test against England in Wellington. He became the fourth batsman in the world to play 100 innings of 50 or more runs in Test history.

Root's wonder in the 151st test

World number 1 Test batsman Root is playing the 151st Test match of his career in Wellington. He crossed the 50 run mark in the second innings. Root completed his half-century during the third session of the second day's play. He is the highest run scorer in Tests for England. Apart from this, he is also the player who has scored the most centuries for his country.

Sachin Tendulkar at number-1

India's legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for scoring the highest score of 50+ in Test cricket. During his 24-year long international career, Tendulkar played 200 Tests for India and scored 50+ scores 119 times. He ended his Test career with 51 centuries and 68 half-centuries.

Root went ahead of Dravid

After Tendulkar, the names of Jacques Kallis and Ricky Ponting come in the list of batsmen who have scored the most 50+ scores in Test cricket. Both Ponting and Kallis have crossed the 50-run mark 103 times in Test cricket. By doing this for the 100th time, Root left behind former Indian captain Rahul Dravid. Dravid had crossed the 50 run mark 99 times.
