Sports Desk, New Delhi. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will name a stand after legendary Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Named after retired Indian women cricketer Jhulan Goswami, it will be unveiled during India's first ODI against England on January 22 next year.
CAB announced
Jhulan Goswami's contribution to cricket was recognized by CAB and decided to rename the Block B Gallery after its former captain. Goswami revealed that she had never imagined such an honor and praised the efforts of the state association to promote women's cricket in India.
I never thought
According to PTI, Jhulan Goswami said, I never thought that something like this would happen. I would definitely love to watch the match from there. For any cricketer, the ultimate dream is to represent their district, state or country, but to receive such an honor is really a big deal.
CAB promoted women's cricket
Jhulan further said, a dedicated stand is a huge, important honor and it is only possible because of CAB's vision to promote women's cricket. This belief cannot be expressed in words. In the last 8-10 years, CAB has done unprecedented work towards promoting women's cricket.
