After taking Indian cricket to great heights, Jay Shah has started his new innings. Jay Shah has started his tenure as ICC President. With this he has become the youngest ICC Chairman. At present his age is only 35 years. With this he has become the 5th Indian to rule the ICC. Jay Shah has taken over the chair of ICC amid the ongoing controversy over the Champions Trophy, hence now Jay Shah is going to play an important role in the decisions taken on this tournament.
Jai Shah took over as ICC chair
Jay Shah was given the responsibility of BCCI Secretary in 2019. Jay Shah has served in BCCI for almost 6 years. Along with this, he had also become the President of Asian Cricket Council from January 2021. Now Jay Shah will work for ICC. He has replaced Greg Barclay, who was the ICC chairman for two consecutive terms. The first ICC tournament during Jay Shah's tenure will be the Champions Trophy, the decision on which is yet to be taken. Actually, Pakistan is hosting the tournament, but India wants its matches on hybrid model, regarding which controversy is going on for the last several days.

Let us tell you, Jai Shah has been associated with the world of cricket since 2009. In 2009, he started his journey with Gujarat Cricket Association. During his tenure he oversaw the development of the world's largest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad. After this, he entered BCCI in 2019. Before Jay Shah, only 4 Indians had held the post of ICC President. Before him Jagmohan Dalmiya, Sharad Pawar, N. Srinivasan and Shashank Manohar have taken over this responsibility.
