Understand this rule like this…
1. A franchise can retain a maximum of six players. Either in the retention phase or through right-to-match cards during the mega auction. Of these, a maximum of five players can be of international level while a maximum of two players can be uncapped.
2. The Right to Match rule gives the franchise an opportunity to buy back a player who was part of that team in the previous season. When a player goes to the auction after his release, many teams bid on him. After the bid is placed, the releasing team is asked whether they want to use RTM for this player?
3. If a player of a team from the previous season is now being sold again in the auction, then that team gets an “RTM Card”. This means that it can buy the player back. In such a situation, if the old team uses RTM, then it has to pay the amount of the last bid made in the auction for that player. Whereas if the old team does not use RTM, then the team making the last bid buys that player.
this is also special
Now every team will have a budget of Rs 120 crore, for which they will have to bid on their players. Players who have not played international cricket for 5 years or have retired will be counted as uncapped players. The list of retained players will have to be submitted today, October 31.
