New Delhi: The Indian team is all set to make a comeback in the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes Tournament, which will be held from 1 to 3 November this year. The tournament started in 1992 and was last held in 2017, which has been restarted this year. Cricket Hong Kong wrote on its 'X' account on Monday, “Team India is gearing up to make a splash off the field in the Hong Kong Sixes.”

The 20th edition of the tournament, which will be played between 12 teams, will be held at the Tin Quang Road Recreation Ground.
Other participating teams include Pakistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, Hong Kong, Nepal, New Zealand, Oman, South Africa, Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates (UAE). Earlier in this competition, Brian Lara, Wasim Akram, Shane Warne, Sachin Tendulkar, M.S. Many legends of the game like Dhoni and Anil Kumble have played for their respective teams.
India won the tournament in 2005, while England and South Africa are the most successful teams with five titles each. Other previous winners of this competition include Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia and West Indies. The format of the tournament is unique as matches are played between two teams of six players each.
There is a maximum of five overs for each side in each match but in the title match each team will bowl five overs with eight balls, whereas in normal matches six balls are bowled. Every member of the fielding team, except the wicketkeeper, must bowl an over, while wides and no-balls count as two runs. Batsmen have to retire at 31 runs, but can come back after all other batsmen are out or retire.
