India has now won 179 matches and lost 178 matches in Test matches. This is the first time in India’s Test history that their win figure has exceeded their losses. India is now among the five teams that have a positive win-loss record in men’s Tests.

Since then, India has played a total of 580 Test matches, in which it has won 179 Test matches, while it has faced defeat in 178 Test matches. 222 matches have been drawn and one match was tied.
