The Indian team has put in full force for the second Test against Australia to be held from December 6. The Pink Ball Test is to be held between the two teams in Adelaide and before that the Indian players are sweating profusely. Despite the practice match against Australia Prime Minister's XI, the Indian team does not want to take any risk. Captain Rohit Sharma is also not behind and he will spend about four hours at the nets.
Rohit was not available for the first Test match played in Perth. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul started the innings in their place. Even in the practice match, Rohit did not come to open and came to bat at number four. There are strong indications of Rohit coming down the batting order, so that the in-form pair of Yashasvi and Rahul can open the Indian innings. But the captain showed great determination when facing the pink kookaburra.
The team practiced on four nets
During this session, the Indian team practiced on four nets in the practice area. In one such net, Yashasvi and Rahul batted alternately while Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli were in the other net. Rohit and Rishabh Pant were practicing together at the third net while Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar were at the last net. The Indian captain, along with Pant and other support staff, arrived for practice at least an hour early.
Spectators watched the practice session closely
Rohit faced deliveries from right-arm specialist Raghavendra and Dayanand Garani along with a side-arm throwdown from Nuwan Seneviratne. The captain tried to leave the length ball but whenever a short ball came, he would pull it easily. For Indian fans living in Australia, this open session was like being in a candy store for children as they were very close to the net.
