India's previous best score was 4.61 runs per over against New Zealand in Auckland in 1990.
India's second innings was limited to 462 runs, giving New Zealand a target of 107 runs to win. Sarfaraz hit 18 fours and three sixes in his 195-ball innings, while Pant hit nine fours and five sixes in his 105-ball innings. New Zealand had just started chasing the target when the umpires stopped the match due to bad light during the first over. After this it started raining heavily and the day's play was declared over.
