Speaking to the media ahead of the second Test against Bangladesh (IND vs BAN 2nd Test) in Kanpur, Akash Deep said that “when he came to join the team for the Bangladesh series, he saw a different level of hard work and dedication from Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.”

The new Indian fast bowler further said, “When I came here, I saw the hard work and dedication of the legends of the game and the Gods of cricket like Rohit, Virat bhai, I realized that they have achieved a lot and are still working so hard during training. Their thought process is of a different level, seeing both the legends inspires me to work even harder.”

Taking his point further, Akash said, “Initially I thought there would be pressure, but Rohit Bhaiya made things very simple. I have not played with such a supportive captain. He keeps things simple, I never felt whether I am playing domestic or international cricket.”
