Mohammad Aman of Saharanpur has been given the responsibility of captain of the Indian cricket team for the Under-19 Asia Cup to be held in UAE. There is great enthusiasm among the cricket players of the district on the achievement of Aman. Amaan's journey to reach here has been very sad and full of thorns. When Amaan remembers the days gone by, his eyes become moist.

Sports Desk, New Delhi. This is the story of rising Indian cricket player Mohammad Aman, resident of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. After the death of his parents when he was just 16 years old, the responsibility of his three siblings fell on his shoulders. It was becoming difficult for Chana to juggle family responsibilities and sporting talent. A promising player was ready to fade into obscurity.

In such difficult times, Mohammad Aman got the support of UPCA. When Aman got the facilities, his game and his stars also shone together. First, he got selection in the Indian Under-19 team and now he also got the captaincy of the Indian team in the Under-19 Asia Cup. Actually, Uttar Pradesh's middle order batsman Mohammad Aman will lead the Indian team in the 50-over ACC (Asian Cricket Council) Under-19 Asia Cup. This tournament will be organized in United Arab Emirates later this month.

Had made up my mind to quit cricket

However, Aman has struggled a lot before becoming the captain of India Under-19 team. The journey to reach here was full of thorns. His mother Saiba died in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic. His father Mehtab was a truck driver. He lost his job and two years later he also died due to prolonged illness. With the shadow of his parents rising from his head, Aman had two options either to continue playing cricket or to forget his dream and look for jobs.

'Became big in a single day'

In an interview given to Indian Express, Aman had said, when I lost my father, it felt as if I suddenly grew up in a single day. I became the head of the family. I had to take care of my younger sister and two brothers. I told myself that I should leave cricket and even searched for a job in Saharanpur, but to no avail. However, some people wanted me to continue my game and were willing to help.

The coach helped

Despite thousands of troubles, Aman did not give up and continued playing cricket. When he was looking for a job, he met his coach Rajiv Goyal. The coach included him in the academy. After this UPCA also helped Aman. Now at the age of 18, he got the results of his hard work. He has been made the captain of India's Under-19 team. Remembering the last few years, Aman cannot believe that he has passed those dark days.
