Dehradun : Uttarakhand Health Department and National Health Mission (NHM) have taken a unique initiative to make the people of the state health conscious. For the first time, a cricket tournament in the name of Uttarakhand Health Premier League is going to be organized in the state, in which along with sports, important information related to health will also be given. This event will be held from 14th October to 20th October at Maharana Pratap Sports College, Dehradun. 8 teams from different government departments of the state will participate in this league. These include teams from NHM Uttarakhand, SIDCUL, Income Tax, Food Department, UPCL, Postal Department, PWD, and CMO Dehradun.
Every team got a special theme
The special thing about this tournament is that every team has been linked to a health related topic. The themes for the teams are as follows.

Health awareness through cricket
Assistant Director of the Health Department, Dr. Kuldeep Singh Martolia said that the main objective of this tournament is to make the various programs run by the Health Department available to the public. Cricket is a popular game and by making it a medium, people will be able to get important health related information. This league will also be telecast live, so that this message can reach more and more people of the state.
Health Premier League goal
It is noteworthy that this is the first time that such an initiative is being taken in Uttarakhand. Through the Health Premier League, not only will the players and spectators be entertained, but people will also be made health conscious. This event will give a new direction to the efforts of the health department and will play an important role in spreading health awareness among the people.
