Afghanistan vs Zimbabwe: Afghanistan superstar Rashid Khan is now all set to make a comeback into the Test team after missing the only Test match against New Zealand. He last played a Test match against Zimbabwe in March 2021 and will return against the same team on the Afghanistan tour in December. Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Chief Executive Naseeb Khan confirmed this and said that Rashid has recovered from his back injury and is ready to explode in red ball cricket.

Speaking to Cricbuzz, he said, 'We are confident that Rashid will play for us in the Test series against Zimbabwe. Due to his back surgery, he took a long time to recover and we wanted him to be fully recovered before taking on the burden of playing Test cricket. Now he looks fine and is ready to play for us in Test cricket.

Afghanistan's bowling unit has got a big boost with the return of Rashid Khan. The ACB had earlier said that Rashid would stay away from the longer formats till November, due to which his availability for the Zimbabwe tour was also in doubt. Zimbabwe has to host three ODIs, three T20 and two Test matches against Afghanistan. The tour will begin from December 9 with a three-match T20 series, whose matches will be played at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. The ODI series will also be played on the same ground from 15 to 19 December.

This will be the first time in 28 years that Zimbabwe will host the Boxing Day Test. The tour will conclude with a two-match Test series in Bulawayo, where the first Test will be played from 26 to 30 December and the second from 2 to 6 January. This series will be historic for the Zimbabwe team, because it will play a Test series at home with another country after 28 years. Zimbabwe last hosted England in 1996.
