Gautam Gambhir Unlucky Indian Head Coach: Gautam Gambhir was made the head coach of Team India after Rahul Dravid. The Indian team won the 2024 T20 World Cup title, with which Rahul Dravid's tenure as head coach ended. After Dravid, the responsibility was handed over to Gambhir. But till now Gambhir has proved to be 'unlucky' for Team India as the head coach. Till now, the Indian team has been embarrassed many times under the coaching of Gambhir.

1- Losing the series against Sri Lanka after 27 years

After Gautam Gambhir became the head coach, Team India toured Sri Lanka for a three-match ODI and three-match T20 series between July 27 and August 7. Team India had won 3-0 in the T20 series. But in the three-match ODI series played after this, the Men in Blue faced a 2-0 defeat. The first match of the series was tied. Then Sri Lanka won the next two matches and won the series. This was Team India's first defeat in a bilateral ODI series against Sri Lanka in 27 years.

2- Lost home test against New Zealand after 36 years

The first match of the three-match Test series between India and New Zealand was played in Bengaluru. In this Bengaluru Test, New Zealand defeated Team India by 8 wickets. Through this match, New Zealand registered a Test victory against India on Indian soil after 36 years. Earlier, the Kiwi team had won against India in the Test on Indian soil in 1988.

3- Score less than 50 runs in home test for the first time

Under the coaching of Gautam Gambhir, Team India was all out with a score of less than 50 runs in the first innings of the home test. In the first innings of the Bangalore Test against New Zealand, the Indian team was all out for 46 runs. This was the third lowest total of Team India overall in the history of Test cricket.
