Effort to save Haldwani International Cricket Stadium, Sports Secretary inspected

Haldwani: Special Principal Secretary Sports Amit Sinha reached Nainital district headquarters Haldwani on Saturday, October 5. Amit Sinha inspected the International Cricket Stadium built in Gaulapar, Haldwani. Haldwani's International Cricket Stadium is in danger due to river erosion.

In fact, the continuous erosion in the Gaula River is proving dangerous for the International Cricket Stadium. If no concrete steps are taken in time, the International Cricket Stadium may suffer huge losses. Special Principal Secretary Sports Amit Sinha held a meeting with officials of the Sports Department on all these issues.

After the meeting, Secretary Sports said that due to the recent heavy rains and disaster, there has been huge damage in the border areas of the International Cricket Stadium. Therefore, permission to carry out protective work is awaited. As soon as permission is granted, protective work will be done on a large scale.

He said that river erosion has posed a great threat to the stadium. The parking and land of the stadium has also been damaged. Keeping in view the future threat to the stadium, it is necessary to take action, for which guidelines have been issued. Apart from this, he talked to coaches of various sports.

He said that as soon as the dates of the National Games are announced, he will start full preparations and preparations for the Commonwealth Games are going on at the state level. Apart from this, he said that a sports university is to be built in Gaulapar, for which action is going on at the government level and it is hoped that the work of the university will be started soon.

It is noteworthy that after the heavy rains from 12th to 14th September, the walking track and path of the international stadium has been washed away, due to which the existence of the stadium has also come in danger. After this, officials are continuously coming to inspect the international stadium. The Sports Secretary has instructed the officials to complete the security work before the upcoming rainy season.
