Ind A vs Aus A: India A team's top order faltered for the second consecutive innings at the MCG Stadium in Melbourne. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad along with KL Rahul and Abhimanyu Easwaran could not even walk in the second innings. Five of India's batsmen returned to the pavilion after scoring just 56 runs. But the hero of the first innings, Dhruv Jurel, maintained his charm in the second innings also. Dhruv made a partnership of 96 runs with Nitish Kumar Reddy. Jurel faced 122 balls and spent a lot of time at the crease. He hit 5 fours in his innings of 68 runs. But while trying to play a big shot, Dhruv was caught by Sam Kontas on the ball of Corey Rocchioli.
Australia took a lead of 62 runs from India in the first innings. After the dismissal of Dhruv Jurel, Nitish Kumar Reddy was also out soon. Nitish scored 38 runs. In the lower order, all-rounders Tanush Kotian and Prasidh Krishna handled the Indian innings and made a partnership of 49 runs for the eighth wicket. Tanush showed good hands in batting and scored 44 runs in 84 balls while Prasidh Krishna also contributed 29 runs. India's entire innings was all out for 229 runs in 77.5 overs and India has given Australia A a target of 168 runs to win. The most successful bowler from Australia was spinner Corey Rocchioli. He took 4 wickets for 75 runs. Beau Webster took 3 wickets and Nathan McAndrew took 2 wickets.
Prasiddh Krishna's magic: Prasidh Krishna gave two blows in the first over to the Australian team which was chasing 168 runs. On the very third ball of the Kangaroo innings, opener Marcus Harris dodged Krishna's skidding ball and was caught by the wicket keeper. On Prasidh's very next ball, Cameron Bancroft was found in front of the wickets and the umpire declared him LBW. Famous Krishna riding the hat-trick cart was stopped by Sam Constas. At present, Australia has scored 33 runs at the loss of 2 wickets on the third day and needs 135 runs to win with 8 wickets remaining.
