Mau: Protests are being held in the districts of Purvanchal and Central Uttar Pradesh regarding the injustice being done to the cricket players of Purvanchal in the team selection in Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association. Due to this, angry cricket players under the leadership of Cricket Players Association District Mau Uttar Pradesh President Shivbachan Yadav and Cricket Association Secretary Nasiruddin burnt the effigy of BCCI.

President Shivbachan Yadav said that there are a total of 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh but UPCA has recognized only 41 districts. 34 districts have not been recognised. In the eyes of BCCI, betrayal is being done. The biggest demand of the cricket players of Purvanchal is that 25 percent quota in the UP cricket team should be ensured for the players of Purvanchal or a new cricket association, Cricket Association of Purvanchal, should be recognized for the cricket players of Purvanchal, otherwise the districts of Purvanchal Cricketers will continue their protest until their demands are met.

He also told that cricket players from the districts of Purvanchal are not included in the Uttar Pradesh Ranji Trophy Under-16, Under-19 and Under-23 (men and women) teams. Even if a player is included, he is not given an opportunity to play in the match. In the UP team, players from the states of Western Uttar Pradesh and Delhi Haryana including Meerut, Ghaziabad, Moradabad are given priority, while other districts including Ballia and Mau districts of Purvanchal are not given priority.

The selectors of UP give priority to the Western UP team, the reason for which is that some district association officials of UP use their influence to include players from their district in the team. UPCA selectors have also been appointed to the selection committee under their pressure, which is an unethical act. Association officials of some districts of UP are also involved in the UP team selection who are engaged in immorality and the orders of the Honorable Supreme Court are being violated. Therefore, Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association protested by burning the effigy of BCCI regarding what was happening with the cricket players from the districts of Purvanchal in the team selection.
