Umpire Aleem Dar Announced Retirement: Aleem Dar, who was elected the best umpire of world cricket, will leave umpiring in the year 2025 after the Pakistani domestic season. 56-year-old Dar has served in the elite panel of ICC umpires from 2003 to 2023. He is on Pakistan's elite panel and is one of the four Pakistani umpires on the ICC international panel. Due to which he became eligible for One Day International and T20 International. So far, Aleem Dar has umpired in 448 international matches. Aleem has been awarded the ICC Best Umpire of the Year for his excellent umpiring.

Aleem Dar has also given a statement regarding his retirement in which he is giving feedback about his entire career. Regarding his journey, Aleem said,

My umpiring for almost 25 years has been quite memorable. I have had the privilege of umpiring important matches with many big and great players in this generation. Throughout my career I have striven to maintain the highest standards of sportsmanship and it is an honor to work with some of the world's most important match officials. However, all journeys come to an end now and the time has come for me to concentrate on social and religious work.

A look at Aleem Dar's umpiring career

Aleem Dar umpired in the Indian Premier League between 2008 and 2014. He umpired in 38 matches with his partner Asad Rauf. If we take a look at Aleem's umpiring journey, he started it in the first class in the domestic series Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in the year 1998-99. He then worked with ICC International and the elite panel of umpires from 2003 to 2023, where he learned player management skills, playing conditions, maintaining a calm demeanor, etc. Till now he has umpired in 145 Test matches, 231 ODI and 72 T20. Dar has also umpired in a total of 5 T20 World Cups.
