Cricket Australia should clarify on 'ball controversy': Warner

Ball Controversy: Australia's legendary batsman David Warner has sought clarification from Cricket Australia on the controversy regarding replacement of the ball on the last day of the first unofficial Test played between Australia A and India A in Mackay.

Responding to the Warner ball controversy, he said, “Cricket Australia has to take the final decision.” I think Cricket Australia hushed up the matter as quickly as possible because the Indian team is about to come here. However, I feel that if the umpires feel that something has happened then I am sure that some further action will be taken in this regard.

The umpire or match referee should come forward and answer all the questions. He said, “I think the match referee should talk to his staff i.e. the umpires. If they agree with the umpire's decision then you also have to stand for it. Cricket Australia should obviously issue a statement in this regard. Till now I have not seen anything like this happening from Cricket Australia.

It is noteworthy that before the start of the last day of the unofficial Test in Mackay, when the new ball was handed over to the Indian team, the Indian players and especially Ishan Kishan appeared very angry with the umpires. In a voice captured on the stump microphone, umpire Shaun Craig was heard saying that there were a lot of scratches on the previous ball while Kishan was heard terming the decision to change the ball as foolish.
