Shillong: Indian cricket team's explosive batsman Virender Sehwag may have taken retirement from the game, but his cricketing skills are still discussed today. When Virender Sehwag used to come on the field to bat, fear would arise in the minds of the bowlers. Fans liked Sehwag's fearless style very much. Now his son Aryaveer is doing something similar. Aryaveer is a part of the Under-19 team in Delhi Cricket and he is currently playing in the Cooch Behar Trophy. Cooch Behar Trophy is India's prestigious tournament in the age group and many renowned players have played in it. In such a situation, now Virender Sehwag's son Aryaveer has made a splash in the Cooch Behar Trophy with his explosive batting like his father.
Aryaveer hit an unbeaten double century
Aryaveer, son of India's great explosive batsman Virender Sehwag, played an unbeaten 200 runs in 229 balls for Delhi in the Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy against Meghalaya on Thursday. Aryaveer, who came to open the innings with Arnav Bugga, hit 34 fours and two sixes during his special innings. The way Aryaveer batted on the field, it seemed as if he was wielding a sword and not a bat. Some of his shots were similar to those played by his father Virender Sehwag. This is the reason why it is being said about Aryaveer that he is exactly like his father in batting.
Apart from Aryaveer, Bugga played an inning of 114 runs in 108 balls. In reply to Meghalaya's 260 runs, Delhi scored 468 runs at the loss of two wickets in 81 overs at stumps on the second day. Aryaveer was batting with Dhanya Nakra till the end of the day's play. Dhanya is playing after scoring 98 runs. The Cooch Behar Trophy is India's premier multi-day domestic competition for the under-19 age group.
